Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of CardIQ (“CardIQ”, “we”, “us”), a personal credit-card rewards and benefits manager operated by Tim O'Malley. By accessing or using CardIQ, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. The service

CardIQ helps you track credit-card rewards, benefits, and spending. You may optionally connect a financial institution through Plaid so the app can read your transactions to match them to card benefits. CardIQ reads transaction data only and cannot move money.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use CardIQ. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you sign in with and for all activity under your account.

3. Bank connections and consent

By connecting a bank, you authorize CardIQ and Plaid to access your transaction data as described in our Privacy Policy and Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. You can disconnect a bank or delete your account at any time from within the app.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Attempt to access data belonging to other users;
  • Probe, scan, or disrupt the service except via our security disclosure process;
  • Reverse engineer or misuse the service or its APIs.

5. Not financial advice

CardIQ provides informational tools only. Rewards values, benefit estimates, and recommendations are estimates and may be inaccurate or out of date. CardIQ is not a financial advisor, and nothing in the service constitutes financial, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own financial decisions.

6. Third-party services

CardIQ relies on third-party providers (including Plaid, Google, and others described in our Privacy Policy). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their acts or omissions.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CardIQ and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of the service.

9. Termination

You may stop using CardIQ and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Update with your specific state/jurisdiction.]
